Hi, I'm Jenna.

I'm so glad you're here.

If you're anything like I was, you've probably spent a long time believing you just needed to try harder.

To be more patient. More organized. More productive. More grateful.

You tell yourself that if you could just get everything under control, you'd finally feel calm again…

I believed that for years.

I blamed myself for being overwhelmed. For losing my patience. For feeling exhausted even after sleeping. For never feeling like I was doing enough.

What I didn't realize was that my nervous system had been living in survival mode for far too long.

Learning that changed everything, not because life suddenly became easier, but because I finally stopped believing I was the problem.

That understanding changed the way I parent, the way I show up in my relationships, and ultimately the reason I created The Burnout Bar.

Not as another place that tells women to simply "manage their stress." Not as another list of self-care tips, but as a place where women can finally understand themselves with compassion instead of criticism.

A place where therapy feels like a conversation. Where education brings relief. Where nervous system regulation is explained in plain language, and where women can begin building lives they no longer need to recover from.

A quiet moment of reflection representing nervous system regulation, burnout recovery, and creating space for rest and self-compassion.

My Approach

I believe healing starts with understanding.

When you know why your body feels exhausted, why your patience feels shorter, or why your mind never seems to switch off, everything begins to make more sense.

That understanding creates compassion.

Compassion creates safety.

And safety creates change.

My work combines evidence-based psychotherapy with practical nervous system education, helping women move beyond simply coping and toward living with more calm, confidence, and connection.

Professional Background

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) providing virtual psychotherapy to women across Ontario.

My work focuses on supporting women experiencing:

• Burnout

• Anxiety

• Emotional overwhelm

• Motherhood and the mental load

• Nervous system dysregulation

• Life transitions

I believe therapy should feel practical, compassionate, and human. You don't need to have the right words. You don't need to have everything figured out. You simply need a place to begin.

Outside The Therapy Room..

Outside of therapy, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband, Cass, our daughter, Stella and our sweet border collie lab, Molson.

Motherhood has been one of the greatest joys of my life and one of the greatest teachers. It has deepened my understanding of burnout, the mental load, and what it means to care for yourself while caring for everyone else.

The Burnout Bar wasn't built from textbooks alone. It was built from both professional training and lived experience. That combination shapes everything I create.

My Perfect Reset

You'll usually find me with an iced coffee in hand, walking by the water, or sitting on the deck after Stella has gone to bed. Those quiet moments remind me to practice the same nervous system care I encourage my clients to prioritize.

My Biggest Teacher

Motherhood.

It has stretched me, humbled me, and taught me more about burnout, patience, and self-compassion than I ever could have learned from a textbook. It's also why so much of my work resonates with women carrying the invisible mental load.

When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my little family.

You'll usually find us outside, near the water, or making the most of a slow weekend together.

Whether we meet in therapy, through a House Pour, or somewhere within The Burnout Bar community, my hope is that you leave feeling a little lighter than when you arrived, because that's where change begins. I'm really glad you're here.

FAQs

What happens during the free 15-minute consultation?

The consultation is simply a chance for us to connect. We'll talk about what's been bringing you here, what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and whether I'm the right fit for you. There's no pressure or commitment, it's just an opportunity to ask questions and see if working together feels right.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes. All psychotherapy sessions are held virtually through a secure video platform, so you can attend from anywhere in Ontario. Many clients appreciate being able to access therapy from the comfort of home without adding travel time to an already busy schedule.

I primarily work with women who are experiencing burnout, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, nervous system dysregulation, motherhood challenges, life transitions, and the mental load of balancing everything life demands. Whether you're feeling constantly "on," exhausted, or like you've lost yourself along the way, therapy can help you reconnect with who you are.

Who do you work with?

Psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes and are $135 per session.

How much are sessions?

Do you offer direct billing?

I do not offer direct billing at this time. Payment is required at the time of your appointment, and you'll receive a receipt immediately afterward that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Is psychotherapy covered by insurance?

Many extended health benefit plans cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist. Every insurance plan is different, so I recommend checking with your provider to confirm your coverage before your first appointment.

What can I expect from working with you?

Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and conversational. While we'll spend time understanding your experiences, we'll also focus on developing tools that fit your real life. Together we'll explore what's happening beneath the surface, understand how your nervous system has adapted to stress, and work toward creating sustainable change, not just getting through another week.

Most clients begin with weekly or bi-weekly sessions, depending on their goals and current needs. As you begin to feel more regulated and confident, we can adjust the frequency together.

How often will we meet?

What if I've never been to therapy before?

That's completely okay. Many of my clients are starting therapy for the first time. I'll guide you through the process, answer your questions, and make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. You don't need to have the "right words" or know exactly where to start, we'll figure it out together.

How do I know if we're a good fit?

Finding the right therapist matters. That's exactly why I offer a free 15-minute consultation. It's an opportunity for us to meet, discuss what's been going on, and make sure you feel comfortable moving forward. If I'm not the best fit for your needs, I'll do my best to help point you in the right direction.

I provide secure virtual psychotherapy for women across Ontario. Whether you're in Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston, London, Sudbury, Windsor, Thunder Bay, or a small rural community, you can access therapy from the comfort of your own home. Virtual sessions make it easier to fit support into your life, without adding more stress to your schedule.
